The GAMO Viper Express is a unique rifle, it shoots Express Shot Shell Ammo  and also .22 Cal. Pellets using the included chamber adapter. The special shotshells deliver a 17 grain payload of #9 shot with enough power and velocity to penetrate over 1/4” of 200 lb. compressed paper board at more than 10 yards. You will able to change to .22 Cal Pellets using the adapter that needs to be loaded before the pellet does (ammo not included).

The GAMO Viper Express is built for the kind of hunting where things happen fast and up close. At a glance it looks like a traditional break-barrel, but the big difference is what it can shoot: GAMO Express Shot Shells for a shotgun-style pattern, or standard .22 pellets when you drop in the included chamber adapter. One rifle, two very different jobs—handy if your day switches between pests around the property and small game in the field.

Power comes from a spring-piston setup with a single cocking system, so operation stays simple and familiar: break the barrel, load, close, and go. With roughly 30 lbs of cocking effort, it’s manageable for repeated shots without feeling like a workout.

In shotshell mode, the Viper Express uses a smoothbore barrel and a bead front sight—a setup that makes sense for quick pointing and tracking moving targets at close to medium ranges. When you switch to pellets, you can take advantage of the 11mm grooved rail and add optics to tighten things up even more.

Comfort and control are handled by an all-weather synthetic stock with a grippy texture where it matters, plus a ventilated rubber pad at the rear. The two-stage SAT trigger helps keep the shot break predictable, and the rifle’s light, well-balanced feel makes it easy to carry and steady for longer sessions.
