Description
The Shadow Tactical Maxxim GR is a .22 caliber tactical air rifle built for small-game hunting, backyard pest control, and everyday target practice. It delivers a steady, repeatable shooting experience in a rugged olive-green synthetic stock, complete with an adjustable cheek piece for a better sight picture and more consistent head placement. For added stability in the field or on the bench, this kit includes a Gamo adjustable bipod—plus 500 Hunter .22 pellets and 50 paper targets to get you shooting right away.
To keep things neighbor-friendly, the Shadow Tactical Maxxim GR uses integrated Whisper Maxxim sound-moderation technology to reduce report without adding bulk. Power comes from Gamo’s Inert Gas Technology (IGT), designed to produce smoother shot cycles, less vibration, and more consistent performance compared to traditional spring systems. Accuracy and control are further improved with GAMO’s CAT (Custom Action Trigger), a two-stage adjustable trigger that lets you tune the feel for a cleaner, more predictable break.
Because high-powered air rifles can be tough on optics, Gamo also built in the Recoil Reducing Rail to help protect your scope by managing recoil forces and improving long-term durability. The result is a well-balanced .22 pellet rifle package that’s comfortable to shoot, easy to set up, and ready for hunting or range time right out of the box.

WHISPER MAXXIM NOISE SUPPRESION
Gamo’s patented Whisper technology is one of the most recognized sound-moderation systems in the air rifle world, designed to help reduce muzzle report without sacrificing performance. It’s offered in three levels—Whisper, Whisper Maxxim, and Whisper Fusion—so you can choose the right balance of size, weight, and noise control for your style of shooting. Keep in mind that “quieter” isn’t the same as silent: real-world sound levels change based on the pellet you use. In general, lighter pellets pushed at higher speeds (and smaller calibers) tend to sound sharper, while heavier pellets at lower speeds typically produce a softer report. For an easier comparison, use the chart above as a quick reference when deciding which setup fits your needs.
Whisper Maxxim steps things up with a dual-chamber dampening design that helps cut down noise more effectively than standard Whisper models. It also features an updated muzzle brake profile built into the bull barrel, which can contribute to a more controlled shot feel. The result is a lightweight, fluted polymer/steel rifled barrel assembly that keeps the rifle balanced and maneuverable while adding one of Gamo’s more advanced sound-moderation systems. Compared to the original Whisper configuration, Whisper Maxxim is designed to take up less space up front, helping maintain a better overall weight balance—while delivering a quieter shooting experience.
IGT (Inert Gas Technology) GAS PISTON
The Shadow Tactical Maxxim is powered by Gamo’s IGT (Inert Gas Technology), a gas-piston system designed to deliver smoother performance and more consistent shot-to-shot power. Instead of a traditional spring, IGT uses a sealed pneumatic cylinder, which helps reduce vibration and “twang,” improves long-term durability, and keeps the firing cycle feeling cleaner—especially during longer practice sessions or when you’re dialing in your accuracy for hunting.
In real-world use, that smoother shot cycle can translate into better control and tighter groups, since the rifle is easier to keep on target through the trigger break. IGT also maintains a steady, even cocking effort from shot to shot. This pellet rifle can reach up to 1,000 fps in .22 caliber with alloy pellets—giving you the speed and downrange energy you want for hunting or fast-paced target shooting.
CAT (Custom Action Trigger)
Gamo’s C.A.T. (Custom Action Trigger) is designed to give shooters more control over how their trigger feels, with independent adjustments for both the first and second stages. That means you can fine-tune take-up and the break to match your shooting style—whether you prefer a longer, more deliberate pull for hunting or a shorter, faster feel for target work.
Adjusting it is straightforward. The first-stage screw controls how much take-up you get before you hit the wall: loosen it to increase travel, or tighten it to shorten the first stage. The second-stage screw lets you tune the final portion of the pull right before the shot breaks—back it out for more travel, or turn it in to reduce travel for a crisper, quicker release. The result is a more personalized trigger pull that can help improve consistency and accuracy over time.
RECOIL REDUCING RAIL (RRR)
Gamo’s Triple R (Recoil Reducing Rail) is built to protect your optics on high-powered air rifles—where the sharp, two-way recoil can be especially hard on scopes. Instead of transferring that jolt directly into the scope tube, the RRR system is designed to help manage recoil forces so your scope holds zero longer and stays more reliable over time.
The rail uses a patent-pending, two-piece aluminum design separated by dual polymer struts that act like shock absorbers. When your scope is mounted to the Recoil Reducing Rail, those polymer supports help dampen the recoil impulse before it reaches the scope’s internal components. The end result is less vibration, better scope durability, and more consistent accuracy—exactly what hunters and serious shooters want when every shot counts.
ADJUSTABLE CHEEK PIECE AND BI-POD
This air rifle features a durable, high-grade synthetic stock paired with an adjustable cheek piece for a more comfortable, consistent shooting position. You can raise or lower the cheek rest to match your setup—whether you’re shooting with open sights or running a scope—so your eye naturally lines up with the sight picture every time.
For added stability, the Shadow Tactical Maxxim also includes a bipod to help steady the front end and reduce movement on the bench or in the field. The result is a more controlled hold, easier follow-through, and improved accuracy when it matters most.
READY-TO-SHOOT KIT
This kit not only includes the bipod, but also 500 Hunter .22 pellets and 50 Gamo paper targets.
