Be sure the air gun is unloaded and remove any accessories that did not originally come with the handgun.

Q:. Do the GAMO handguns have a manual safety?
A:. Yes. All GAMO handguns, with the exception of the Compact model, are furnished with a manual safety, which blocks the pistol from firing.

Q:. Does GAMO offer upgrades on handguns or sell handguns direct to the consumer?
A:. GAMO does not offer upgrades on our handguns at all, but we do sell our products directly to the consumer.

Q:. How do I get an obstruction out of my GAMO handgun barrel?
A:. Make sure that the safety is “on” and the CO2 cartridge has been removed prior to cleaning an obstruction. Open the barrel down and insert a cleaning rod of the appropriate caliber for your handgun into the opening of the barrel. Push the rod through the barrel with the brush attachment of the cleaning rod to remove any lead particles that may be adhered to the rifling. Refer to the manual.

Q:. How do I get an obstruction out of my GAMO P-23 or Auto 45 pistol magazine?
A:. Make sure that the safety is “on” and the CO2 cartridge has been removed prior to cleaning an obstruction. Slide the red lever of the magazine feeder pin back until it catches in the slot. If possible, shake the obstruction free of the magazine. If this does not clear the magazine, insert a large needle or similar object in the longitudinal groove to push the obstruction out. Refer to the manual.

Q:. How do I make sure my rifle is completely empty?
A:. To make sure your rifle is completely empty, use a cleaning rod to ensure no pellets are lodged in the barrel.

Q:. How do I release the safety catch from the Gamo rifles?
A:. The safety catch is located in front of the trigger. The safety is on when the lever is in the rear position. To release the trigger, move the lever to the forward position away from the trigger. Please refer to the manual.

Q:. How do I unload my Multishot?
A:. To unload your Multishot, make sure you remove the pellet in the breech and all pellets from the magazine. Manually move the steel bar up and down, and with a pin or cleaning rod, push each pellet out to ensure that magazine is completely empty. You may also refer to the manual.

Q:. How long is the turnaround time for repairs?
A:. Turn around time for repairs vary between 4-6 weeks.

Q:. What do I do if I need to remove an obstruction that has lodged inside the barrel of my rifle?
A:. First, make sure the safety in “ON” and barrel is pointing in a safe direction. NEVER attempt to clear stuck ammunition by firing an additional pellet through the gun. Break the barrel down the same as in loading, insert a cleaning rod of the appropriate caliber for your rifle into the opening of the barrel. Push the rod through the barrel until the pellet is free. When you are finished, clean the barrel with a brush attachment of the cleaning rod to remove any lead particles that may be adhered to the rifling.

Q:. What does the automatic cocking safety system mean?
A:. When cocking your rifle, the automatic cocking safety system prevents the trigger from accidentally firing the rifle should the trigger be pulled or moved.

Q:. Can I use Raptor ammunition in my pistol?
A:. NO, Raptor is made to be tight fitting in the barrel. Many pistols do not have the force to propel the pellet out of the pistol.

Q:. Can multiple pellets be loaded in Gamo rifles?
A:. No. NEVER try to insert multiple pellets in the barrel of any GAMO rifle, as this can be dangerous and cause malfunctions in your rifle.

Q:. Can my GAMO rifle’s rear sight be adjusted for windage and elevation?
A:. If your GAMO air rifle has an open rear sight, it is adjustable for windage and elevation. The rear sight is a notch and the front sight is a post. To make the adjustments, see the diagram in your manual.

Q:. Can pellets be placed in the barrel of my GAMO air rifle in any direction?
A:. No. Pellets should be placed in your GAMO air rifle with the skirt towards the butt of the gun.

Q:. Can the barrel be damaged by pulling the trigger when the barrel is in the down position?
A:. YES, this can cause the barrel to snap back into the receiver causing possible damage to the barrel, power plant and even to serious bodily damage.

Q:. Can the GAMO rifles be dry fired?
A:. No, spring piston air rifles should not be dry fired. Gamo engineers have done extensive testing to determine the damage caused by dry firing and as a result have increased the strength and durability in the power plant to better handle harsh punishment. Dry firing can still damage the system and is not recommended.

Q:. Can the Viper Express shot shell be reloaded?
A:. No, the shell is not reloadable at this time..

Q:. Can you adjust the trigger pull on the rifles?
A:. No. You cannot adjust the trigger pull on the rifles. However, you may adjust for second stage trigger length on some.

Q:. Can you purchase a rifle without a scope as I already have one?
A:. Our rifles are pre-packaged and are sold as listed in the catalog or on the webpage.

Q:. Can you use a scope stop on the Delta?
A:. Yes. You may use a scope stop on a Delta.

A:. No, many of the 1pc and 2 pcs rings now supplied with the Gamo rifles have a set screw built into the ring. This now takes the place of the scope stop.

Q:. Do Gamo rifles have recoil?
A:. Yes. All GAMO rifles have recoil. The recoil depends on the spring force.

Q:. Do I have to pass a cleaning rod through the bore of my rifle before using it?
A:. Yes. It is recommended that you pass a cleaning rod through the bore to make sure it is free of obstructions before loading or firing your air gun.

Q:. Does Gamo have any barrels with smooth bore?
A:. Several special models have been made with smooth bore barrels; however, those models have been discontinued and we do not make any smooth bore air rifles at this time.

A:. No. Only break the barrel of the Multishot 30 degrees to remove or insert the clip.

A:. Yes. The cylinder in the clip of the Multishot automatically turns when you cock the gun.

Q:. Does the EXPO20 airgun shells contain primer or gun powder?
A:. No, the Viper Express shot shell does not have primer or powder. The shot shell only has two (2) plastic wads and twenty (20) #9 lead shot.

Q:. Does the muzzle break suppress noise?
A:. No. The muzzle break is not used for noise suppression. It acts as a lever and as a handle for cocking.

Q:. Does the scope stop work with all types of scopes?
A:. Yes. The scope stop works with all types of scopes.

Q:. How do I insert the battery into the Varmint Hunter flash light?
A:. Remove the light bulb cap and light bulb and insert the CR123A battery. Replace light bulb cap.

Q:. How do I make sure my rifle is completely empty?
A:. To make sure your rifle is completely empty, use a cleaning rod to ensure no pellets are lodged in the barrel.

A:. First, make sure your rifle is not cocked or loaded and that the safety is on. Press down on the sight with one hand and unscrew the round cap with the other hand, turn counter clockwise until the cap comes off and put it aside. For the Micro metric be aware of the spring under the top hinged portion of the sight.

Q:. How do I replace the Delta rear sight?
A:. First, make sure your rifle is not cocked or loaded and that the safety is on. Press button on left side of sight, and while holding in, move the sight forward and off. Slide the new one in the same position pressing the button on the side.

Q:. How do I unload my Multishot?
A:. To unload your Multishot, make sure you remove the pellet in the breech and all pellets from the magazine. Manually move the steel bar up and down, and with a pin or cleaning rod, push each pellet out to ensure that magazine is completely empty. You may also refer to the manual.

Q:. How do you adjust the trigger for second stage length on the GAMO air rifles?
A:. To adjust the trigger for second stage length on your GAMO air rifle: for a reduction in trigger length: rotate the screw clockwise. For an increase in trigger length: rotate the screw counter clockwise.

Q:. How long will my barrel seal last?
A:. Our tests indicate the barrel seal can last over 10,000 rounds. Over time you may notice a notch in the barrel seal caused by friction from breaking the barrel. This notch will not affect the muzzle velocity.

Q:. How many times does a GAMO rifle need to be cocked?
A:. All GAMO rifles require to be cocked once.

Q:. How often should the rifle barrel be cleaned?
A:. The rifle should be cleaned as often as needed to maintain proper performance.

Q:. How wide are the bases used on Gamo rifles?
A:. 3/8 inches or 11 mm.

Q:. I have lost my fiber optic front sight. Can you replace it?
A:. Yes. You may purchase the front site assembly under accessories on the webpage or call 479-636-1200.

Q:. Is there a front sight at the end of the muzzle break on the Hunter 1250 rifle?
A:. Yes. The Hunter 1250 rifle has a pin for a front sight measuring 8mm/.30 inch in height.

Q:. Is there recommend maintenance for the stock?
A:. YES, the screws in the stock can become lose after the act of many firings. Failure to maintain the screws can result in cracking or complete damage of the stock.

Q:. Should I always clean my rifle before storing?
A:. Yes. It is recommended to clean and lubricate the external metal parts to avoid corrosion.

Q:. What are the benefits of the Fiber Optic sight?
A:. The contrasting fiber colors in the front and rear sight help make sighting quicker and accurate in any light condition.

Q:. What could be wrong if I have chronographed the speed of my rifle and it is not at the velocity it should be?
A:. Many conditions can and will affect the results; including but not limited to pellet weight, design, barrel condition, ambient temperature and elevation. These can vary your results as mush as 5% to 10%.

A:. On some rifle models, the sight has a part with 4 interchangeable positions and you can choose the most convenient for you. To change the position, refer to your manual.

Q:. What does the automatic cocking safety system mean?
A:. When cocking your rifle, the automatic cocking safety system prevents the trigger from accidentally firing the rifle should the trigger be pulled or moved.

Q:. What does the jacketed steel bull barrel do for the rifle?
A:. The jacketed steel bull barrel acts as an extra weight, to aid in cocking and reduction of recoil.

Q:. What is a checkered grip for?
A:. Checkering on grips is used for better feel and to avoid slippage.

Q:. What is the break in time for a Gamo rifle?
A:. GAMO rifles will have a break in period that will be around 200 shots with a lead pellet. The break in period could be longer with a non-lead pellet.

Q:. What is the difference between a millimetric and a micrometric rear sight adjustment?
A:. The micrometric adjustment has a finer adjustment per click.

Q:. What is the difference between a regular cheek piece and a Monte Carlo cheek piece?
A:. The difference between a regular cheek piece and a Monte Carlo cheek piece is that the Monte Carlo cheek piece is more pronounced.

Q:. What is the function of a butt pad?
A:. The butt pad helps absorb the felt recoil.

Q:. What is the purpose of the fluted polymer barrel?
A:. The addition of the new design will enhance the balance and reduce the cocking effort.

Q:. What is the square metal part at the end of the action and what is it for?
A:. The square metal part at the end of the action is the scope stop, used for added scope support and to stop scope slippage.

Q:. What kind of wood is used for the Gamo stocks?
A:. The wood that is used for GAMO stocks is a fine selected grade of European Beech Hardwood.

Q:. What scope(s) are recommended for the GAMO air rifles?
A:. Any quality airgun scope can be used. We recommend BSA Optics line of quality scopes. They can be found at www.BSAoptics.com .

Q:. What type of rifling design do Gamo barrels have?
A:. The barrels are struded with 12 grooves as dextrosum (right to left).

Q:. What type of steel is used in the barrels?
A:. The barrels are made out of precision F-212 steel.

Q:. Where should the scope stop be placed?
A:. The scope stop should be placed on the rail, making contact with the rear ring of the scope.

Q:. Where should you oil a GAMO rifle?
A:. Apply a small amount to the barrel pivot, the two cocking lever pivots and the trigger pivot. Also, use an anti-corrosion lubricant on the external parts. Always refer to your manual. NEVER PUT ANY OIL INSIDE THE BARREL OR THE CHAMBER. THE RESULTING COMBUSTION CAN DAMAGE THE INTERNAL SEAL.

Q:. Which pellet has the greatest impact?
A:. The Hunter pellet has the greatest impact. Please refer to the chart.

Q:. Can GAMO handguns be dry fired?
A:. No, with out the pressure resistance seals can become damaged.

Q:. Can I leave the CO2 canister in the pistol for long periods of time?
A:. NO. It is recommended that if you do not use one CO2 cylinder in one day, to remove it from your air pistol. You may lose the remainder of the CO2 inside of the cylinder, but you will also preserve the life of your air pistol’s CO2 seal. Keeping the CO2 inserted inside of the gun for a long period of time can ruin the CO2 seal.

A:. Different conditions will affect the chronographed speed of a handgun. The weight and shape of the pellet should be taken into consideration. A lighter pellet will increase the velocity. The above sea level altitude and temperature will also make a difference. Having all this in mind, it’s normal for a variation of 5-10% depending on conditions.

Break the barrel down the same as in loading, insert a cleaning rod of the appropriate caliber for your rifle into the opening of the barrel. Push the rod through the barrel until the pellet is free. When you are finished, clean the barrel with a brush attachment of the cleaning rod to remove any lead particles that may be adhered to the rifling.
